HEAD COACH

Chuck Griffin

Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator

Coach Griffin was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida graduating from Woodham High School. After graduating from the University of West Alabama in 1995, Coach Griffin began a business career in Mobile, Alabama, eventually working his way to becoming the vice president of Cameron Development in Destin, Florida.

Chuck and Melanie moved to Abilene, Texas in 1999 to begin his coaching career at Hardin-Simmons University. During his 26 year coaching career, Coach Griffin has coached numerous college players, and six NFL players.

Griffin coached the wide receivers and special teams for Jimmy Keeling as the HSU Cowboys were ranked as high as number 2 in the country and played in a National Quarter-Final game in 1999 and a National Semi-Final Game in 2000. Coach Griffin helped mentor two All-American Wide Receivers while at HSU.

In 2001, Coach Griffin moved to the Texas High School ranks starting at Midland High School. In 2002, he helped Coach Craig Yenzer guide the Bulldogs to break the longest playoff drought in the nation's history at 51 years. The Bulldogs competed for a State Championship in 2002 and won 8 playoff games while Griffin was at Midland High directing the wide receivers and coordinating the special teams.

Chuck, Melanie, Tyler, and Tucker moved throughout Texas as he coached at Temple, Borger, Georgetown, and Troup along the way. The Georgetown Eagles broke a 9- year playoff drought with Coach Griffin as the offensive coordinator and QBs Coach for then Head Coach Phil Blue. Griffin helped lead the Troup Tigers back to the playoffs as the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director in 2011.

Griffin came back to Georgetown to work as the offensive coordinator and QB coach for Head Coach Jason Dean continuing their playoff runs and directing their record-breaking QBs along the way.

After serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Abilene ISD from 2017-2018, Coach Griffin went back to the sidelines as he began leading the Georgetown Eagles as their Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator. The Eagles have soared in the last seven years finishing playing 13 play-off games, winning two District titles and winning 10 games two separate times. Coach has coached in 37 playoff games. Coach Griffin also serves as the President of the Central Texas Coaching Association and is on the Advisory Board of EverRise Data.

Coach Griffin has been married to Melanie for 30 years, they have two children, Tyler and daughter-in-law Erika and Tucker and daughter-in-law Ellie.
